Nouakchott 30 MW wind power plant

The project involves the construction and operation of first wind farm in Mauritania (30 MW)

The main objective of the project is to deliver competitive renewable energy-based electricity to the carbon-intensive grid of Nouakchott, Mauritania’s capital. It does so by adding capacity, which allows switching off other power plants in the grid, which consume gasoil or fuel in the baseline scenario. The plant will consist of 15 wind turbines of 2 MW each for a total installed capacity of 30 MW.
